LaGuardia Limo Pickup: Which Terminal Door Should You Use?

LaGuardia has three terminals and they do not share a curb. Text the terminal letter and the arrivals door, or the car is on a loop while you wait with the bags.

A LaGuardia limo pickup fails when the text says LaGuardia and nothing else. The airport has three terminals, and they do not share a curb: Terminal A is the west building, Terminal B is the center, and Terminal C is the east building. Your chauffeur can stand at one door. The other two require a loop on the airport road.

Where a LaGuardia limo pickup actually stands

Delta's operation is Terminal C. Other carriers use Terminal A or Terminal B, and some of them have moved since the new buildings opened. Check the letter in the airline app before you land, and if the app and the boarding pass disagree, trust the app on the day. A wrong letter is not a short walk with roller bags.

Pickup is on the arrivals level, the lower roadway, and departures are upstairs. A car sent to the upper level is in the wrong place, and the airport road does not let it turn around in the lane. Look at the sign over the door you actually walk out of. That door number, plus the terminal letter, is the text.

How long the ride from Manhattan takes

From Manhattan, plan 30-50 minutes off-peak and 50-80 minutes in rush. The Grand Central Parkway is the last highway into the airport, and it is also where the rush hides. From Midtown East the Queens-Midtown Tunnel feeds that parkway. From the east side and from Harlem, the RFK Bridge (the Triborough) does the same job.

Downtown and west-side pickups often use the FDR or the BQE toward the same parkway. The 50-80 rush band is the tunnel or the bridge plus that parkway, not a mystery inside the terminal. Name the Manhattan corner. The terminal door is a second instruction, and it matters only after the car is on the airport road. Our NYC airport limo guide for JFK, LGA, and EWR compares all three fields.

Do not walk to a different building

Terminal A sits apart from B and C. People try to walk it after a gate change and then call from the wrong curb. Stay in the building on your app and send that door. The chauffeur who is already at Terminal C cannot slide over to Terminal A without joining the arrivals queue again.

The arrivals curb is not a waiting lot. The car should stay off that roadway until you text that you are at the door with the bags. A long idle at the door gets the car moved along, and then you are hunting each other. One text, one door, one pull-up.

Which vehicle belongs on that curb

One to three passengers and about 3 bags fit a Cadillac Lyriq or a Mercedes S-Class. Up to 6 passengers and about 6 bags fit a Chevy Suburban or a Cadillac Escalade. A Sprinter Limo lounges about 10. An Executive Sprinter seats up to 12 in forward-facing seats.

LaGuardia curbs are tight. A Sprinter needs the door you named, not a guess, because there is less room to creep the lane looking for you. If the group is the Sprinter and the flight lands in Terminal A, say so before the wheels are down. The staging point is not the same as Terminal B.

  • Text the terminal letter from the airline app, not from memory.
  • Add the door number printed over the arrivals exit you used.
  • Stay on the lower level. The upper level is departures.
  • Wait for the pull-up. Do not start walking toward another terminal.
  • Say the bag count so the sedan or the SUV is decided before you land.
