Couples planning a wedding in the NYC, NJ, or CT market consistently ask the same question: when do I actually need to lock in transportation? The short answer for peak-season Saturdays is six to twelve months out for first-choice vehicles. The longer answer depends on your date, your vehicle preferences, and your guest-shuttle needs.
Peak vs off-peak
Peak wedding season in our markets is May through October, with September and early October the single most-booked stretch. Saturdays during this window are the highest demand day-of-week. Memorial Day weekend, Labor Day weekend, and the weekends bookending Columbus Day are particularly tight.
Off-peak (November through April, plus most Sunday and weekday weddings even in peak months) has noticeably more availability and more flexibility on vehicle choice.
The realistic timeline
- 12+ months out: Locks in your first choice of every vehicle, including signature SUVs and Sprinter Limos for peak-Saturday dates.
- 6-9 months out: Still very good for most vehicle combinations on peak Saturdays.
- 3-6 months out: Workable for non-peak dates and most peak-Sunday/Friday weddings. Sprinter Limo availability may already be limited for peak Saturdays.
- 1-3 months out: Off-peak dates still fine. Peak Saturdays will be working with what's available, not what's ideal.
- Under 30 days: Last-minute is sometimes possible. Call us to check.
What gets booked first
The single most-requested wedding vehicle in our fleet is the Sprinter Limo (10 lounge-style seats), because it's the right tool for bridal-party transport. Cadillac Escalade is the second-most for couple transport. For peak-Saturday weddings, both of these book out earlier than sedans, sometimes 9-12 months in advance for premium dates.
What clients underestimate
- Guest shuttles. If the ceremony and reception are at different venues, or out-of-town guests are at hotels, you need a shuttle plan. That's its own vehicle count.
- Getting-ready-to-first-look transport. Brides increasingly add a morning vehicle for hair-and-makeup transport.
- After-party transport. The reception ends but the night doesn't. Plan for at least one vehicle past the formal end time.
- Plus-ones for the wedding party. Bridesmaid plus-ones often need rides too.
